About this trip

This Is My Home" / The Jamaican Yard Vibe

In Jamaica, we have a way of welcoming you that standard words just can’t capture.

The closest people get is "Ire spirit.” Here, it means you are received with open arms. It means the guest gets the best piece of fruit, the freshest sip, and the warmest plate first. It means: this is my home, and now it is yours too. You belong here long before you ever have to prove yourself. You are family the minute you step foot in the Yard.

And then, there is Jamaica itself.

Three nights on the untouched South Coast. You’ll start where the Caribbean Sea lets you unwind—secluded beaches, peaceful rivers, and pure relaxation.

Five nights in the heart of Kingston. You will step into the pulse of the island, standing at sacred grounds where our ancestors and legends made history. I am not going to write something clever about dat. You will stand there, feel the deep resonance of the culture, and you will not be standing there alone. There will be people beside you who feel the spirit without needing a word explained.

Small group. Pure vibes. Zero performance. Welcome home.

This is the trip.

Who This Trip Is For

This trip is for you if:

- You have wanted Jamaica for years, and you wanted to go with people, not alone and not with a busload of strangers.

- You are tired of being the only one in the group, and of the small daily arithmetic that comes with it.

- You want somewhere that has been checked out ahead of you, the hotels, the guides, the drivers, the rooms you will walk into.

- You are traveling solo, as a pair, or with one friend, and you want to land somewhere that already feels like it has a seat with your name on it.

- You believe a good trip should change something, not just fill a photo album.

This trip is probably not for you if you want a resort, you never leave, a packed party schedule, or a group so large you can disappear in it. This one is small on purpose.

Traveling With Me

I am Sharon.

I came to this country with twenty dollars and three borrowed flannel shirts, in an Atlanta winter, which tells you everything about how much I knew. I am Jamaican. I have lived in Harlem for twenty-six years. I spend my days in private banking, which is where I learned that the numbers do not lie and neither should you.

Through My Lens started by accident in 2019, when two friends asked me to show them Jamaica the way I know it, not the way the brochure knows it. We had the best week of that year. People kept asking me to do it again.

Seven years later I still plan every trip myself. I walk the hotels. I meet the guides. I know which rooms are the good ones. And I still travel with every single group, because the whole point is the room, and you cannot build the room from home.

"Amazing! Absolutely amazing! I could have never imagined what this trip would have been like. Perfect. The view, the people, the culture was exactly what we were looking for in a trip."

JP.M Jul 16,2024-Ghana

"I recently returned from a guided trip to Ghana organized by Through My Lens Travel Services (“TML”), and it exceeded all my expectations. The local experiences were so powerful and authentic that I instantly felt a deep connection with both the locals and the other members of our traveling group. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and hospitality of the locals made us feel like we were part of their community. The activities and excursions were thoughtfully curated to immerse us in the local culture, traditions, and daily life. Whether it was sharing meals, learning traditional crafts, or visiting historical sites, every moment was enriching and memorable. One of the unique aspects of the trip was the incredible team of local guides who were with us the entire time. While each brought their own perspective and expertise, their knowledge of Ghana and its history was impressive. They took us off the beaten path for unique cultural experiences that we would never have had on our own. All three guides are leaders of a local nonprofit, and their passion and dedication to their community were evident in every interaction. We even had the opportunity to meet some of the children and young adults whose lives are transformed by the organization, and it was one of the many highlights of the trip. What truly made this trip unforgettable was the bond that formed within our group. We shared countless laughs, stories, and experiences that created lasting memories. By the end of the trip, it felt like we had known each other for years. I'm confident that the friendships we made in Ghana will last a lifetime. If you're looking for a travel experience that goes beyond the usual tourist attractions and allows you to connect deeply with both the destination and fellow travelers, I highly recommend TML’s services. It was a life-changing adventure that I will cherish forever. Ghana- The Land of the "Warrior King".

Hold Your Seat

$500 holds your seat.

12 travelers maximum on this departure. 5 rooms remain at single or double ocupany.

I keep these groups small because small is the whole product. When the seats are gone, they are gone, and Jamaica will not be back on my calendar until 2028.
